Job Descriptions

Clinical Staff

Clinical Staff OTR (minimum two years hand experience) or CHT

Provide occupational therapy services to clients with upper extremity injuries, disease or disability.

  • Provide evaluation for clients not limited to joint assessment, musculoskeletal functions, sensorimotor skills, functional and work abilities.
  • Develop a treatment plan based on data collected as well as implement, monitor, and modify plan to achieve goals.
  • Provide occupational therapy techniques not limited to P/ROM, joint mobilization, massage, myofascial release, desensitization techniques, dressing changes, and job simulation.
  • Utilize thermal and electrical physical agent modalities not limited to providing hot/cold packs, fluidotherapy, paraffin/contrast baths, ultrasound, phonophoresis, TENS, NMES, HVPGS, iontophoresis, and biofeedback.
  • Fabricate custom splints, select/order adaptive devices/equipment, and train client in use.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff regarding client's condition, and also may include their physician, rehab nurse, case manager, employer and family members to ensure consistent quality occupational therapy services.
  • Provide a written status report to referring physician each time client is to see their physician and when is a workman's comp case to other appropriate parties.
  • Assist on occasion with Industrial Service Department clients.

Clinical Staff COTA Entry Level (minimum two year's physical rehabilitation experience)

  • Provide occupational therapy services to clients with upper extremity injuries, disease or disability by assisting the OTR in implementing the treatment plan to achieve established client goals.
  • Provide ADL assessments.
  • Provide occupational therapy techniques not limited to A&P/ROM, AA/ROM, massage, desensitization, and monitor the client with therapeutic activity, job simulation, strengthening, BTE or Primus programs.
  • Has general knowledge in the utilization of thermal and electrical physical agent modalities. Will provide same as instructed and under direct OTR supervision.
  • Has basic custom splinting skills and familiar with various prefabricated braces.
  • Select and order adaptive devices/equipment and train client in use.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff regarding client's condition/treatment program.
  • Documentation of client's status to meet clinic requirements.

Clinical Staff COTA (more than two years upper extremity physical disabilities experience)

  • Provide all above Entry Level requirements.
  • Increase job duties according to professional level ability, experience, and within state jurisdictions licensing COTA's as well as within AOTA guidelines addressing Occupational therapy roles and code of ethics.

Clinic Aide

  • Assist in providing a safe and positive clinic atmosphere to enhance in the rehabilitation of clients.
  • Greet clients and familiarize them with the clinic dynamics.
  • Keep the clinic orderly with treatment equipment/supplies and in clean condition.
  • Assist with organization of therapist's flow charts.
  • Be aware of clients treatment program to set-up for same.
  • Assist with inventory of domestic and clinic supplies.
  • Assist with ordering supplies.
  • Assist with and compile client charts.
  • Maintain in an orderly fashion our reference library of books, periodicals, and videos.
  • Maintain an orderly supply of client educational material.

Industrial Services

Industrial Staff OTR, Entry Level (minimum two years industrial rehabilitation experience with upper extremity/hand therapy background)

Have experience in biomechanics, job simulation, ergonomics, task analysis and provide assistance to the Industrial Manager with the following:

  • provide work conditioning initial, interim, and discharge evaluations via use of BTE Quest or Primus, West IIA, and other assessment tools.
  • develop an individualized work conditioning plan based on evaluation data collected, job demands, and current abilities as well as implement, monitor and modify plan to achieve goals.
  • provide FCE to determine but not limited to one or more of the following: return to work status, work restrictions, need for further treatment programs, questionable pain behaviors, questionable worker abilities.
  • provide work site assessment, recommendations, education.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff regarding client's condition and also but not limited to include the physician, rehab nurse, case manager, and employer.
  • Provide written report of client status specific to reason/reasons for work conditioning or FCE referral to the physician, rehab nurse, case worker, insurance provider, etc. as pertinent.
  • work with upper extremity clinic clients on an as needed basis and provide occupational therapy services as indicated for clinical staff OTR requirements.

Industrial Staff COTA, Entry Level (minimum two year's industrial rehabilitation experience)

  • Have experience in biomechanics, job simulation, ergonomics, task analysis, and program planning via OTR's input/evaluations
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding client status and also not limited to include physician, rehab nurse, case manager, employer

Assist the OTR with:

  • FCE's, BTE and work evaluations
  • client's individualized work conditioning program
  • work site evaluations, education

Office Personnel

Front Office Personnel, Entry Position

  • Experience with Microsoft Word
  • Word processing at 50 wpm
  • Data entry
  • Phone skills to effectively communicate with physician offices, insurance companies
  • Patient phone contact to obtain new patient information
  • Greet new patients at the front window and explain paperwork
  • Handle appointment information

Business Office Manager

  • Experience with managing all the business operations of mulitple medical facilities.

Billing Office Manager

  • Experience with managing all phases of medical billing utilizing custom billing software.

Human Resource Manager

  • Experience with managing all personnel matters for multiple medical facilities.

Billing Office Staff

  • Experience with Microsoft Word.
  • Word processing at 50 wpm.
  • Experience with data entry/medical billing.
  • Experience with client benefit's verification.
  • Experience with electronic billing.
